ICU Registered Nurse
Position
Summary:
Prescribes, coordinates and delivers care to clinically care for patients from adolescent to geriatric.
Cares for a wide variety of patient diagnoses, including medical, surgical, cardiac and neurosurgical.
Maintains the standards of professional nursing.
Supervises CNA/SNA, LPN or other health care workers as assigned.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Assesses each patient utilizing the principles of growth and development o Prescribes a plan of care identifying problems/patient care needs and establishes interventions o Implements the plan of care and evaluates its effectiveness o Completes documentation according to specific guidelines o Assesses educational needs of patient, families then implements teaching strategies o (Refer to performance development tool and skills checklist for specific duties/skills) o May be required to take call for all or part of shift if cancelled for low census.
o Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits o Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of ConductEducation and Training:
o Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
